The Important NTA Guidelines for JEE Main 2020 Regarding Covid-19

National Testing Agency is an organization that has been set up by the Government to conduct different entrance examinations in India. NTA helps to evaluate the competence of appearing students for admissions in highly renowned colleges. JEE is one of the exams that is conducted by NTA every year to select the top rankers who can get into one of the best IITs of the country. 

This year the JEE Main 2020 has been shifted due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since it is the responsibility of NTA to conduct the exams safely and successfully, they have recently laid down some of the important guidelines for the candidates appearing for the JEE Mains 2020 exam. These points have been put forward for the safety of the students from the Covid-19 breakdown. 

The guidelines are as follows- 

  • The candidates should reach the exam centre before the reporting time to avoid crowding and maintain social distancing. 

 

  • The students must wear the 3 ply mask provided at the centre to avoid the use of any unfair means used in the exam.  

 

  • To avoid any risk, the students will have to wash their hands and sanitize them properly before entering the exam centre. The body temperature of every candidate will be checked through Thermo Guns to ensure you are free of Corona symptoms. 

 

  • Before the candidate signs the attendance sheet, he/ she will have to sanitize or wash their hands. 

 

  • After the completion of the exam, the admit card and rough sheets are to be dropped in a box. Show it to the respective staff before dropping. 

 

  • If you have a scribe with you, both of you should wear a mask. You can only take important things with you like a ballpoint pen, hand sanitizer, passport size photo, and transparent water bottle. 

Besides the guidelines, there are various strict measures to be followed by the exam centres to avoid the risk of the Covid-19 outbreak. 

Some of the measures are- 

  • As per the Government’s order, the seats of the candidates will be placed at a distance to ensure social distancing. 

 

  • Before every exam shift, the seating area will be sanitized including, the desktop, mouse, webcam, chairs, keyboard, and all the other areas that are touched frequently.  

 

  • The barcode reader will be available at the entry point of the exam centre to read the admit card barcode. 

 

  • The invigilators will be wearing gloves to keep the rough sheets on the desk of the candidates before the exam. 

 

  • The entire process of the exam centre will be touch-free to avoid any risk.

JEE Main April Application Form 2020: Check here for details!

The Application Form of JEE Main April 2020 has begun on 7th February 2020 and students can fill the online form. NTA has allowed students to use their credentials for application for April Session that they have already used in registration of the JEE Main January Session. The registration process includes insertion of personal details including signature and photograph and also the payment of form fee through online mode.

The dates decided for the JEE Main April Session Examination are April 5, 7, 8, 9 and 11. Steps to fill the application form 2020

  1. Fresh Registration: Candidates are required to register on the official website of the JEE Main 2020 and they are required to fill the details such as full name, date of birth, gender, security pin, state of eligibility, identification type (Aadhaar, student ID, passport, ration card, bank account).

After insertion of such details, applicants are preceded for creating a new password for their profile by using a security question and answer. Applicants are needed to keep the following things in mind:

  2. Password includes uppercase and lowercase alphabet and one numeric value

However, In order to fill Application Form through JEE Mains January 2020 credentials, you are required to fill the application form with the application number and password.

Instructions to apply in correspondence with EWS category

Candidates who belong to the EWS category can fill the registration form as per the above-given steps. Candidate must have to select the EWS option from the category list. They can proceed for form without uploading the relevant document. However, they are required to show their original EWS category document during the JEE Advanced Application process.

Correction process for JEE Main April Application form 2020

Soon after the completion of the application form, authorities will open the correction window for the applications. Applicants are then allowed for error rectification from their application form between 8 to 12 March. Candidates are allowed to modify details such as paper, personal details, category, name, state of eligibility, etc. Lastly, the additional payment is done wherever required.
